Speak Love

If I speak in the tongues of men or angels but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging symbol. 1 Corinthians 13:1

Today there is so much noise all around us. There is the news, social media, so much noise surrounding us. And while we can’t control the noise that surrounds our ears, we can control the words that come out of our mouths. Scripture reminds us that we need to have love inside of us. While we can be passionate about our political views, racial injustice, about the different situations going on around the world. While we can be passionate and speak all those languages, but if we don’t have love, we just become noise.

As you go about your day, your life, as you speak and share about your passions, instead of just becoming noise, speak through the lens of love. Not only show love to others but also understand how others receive love. Put yourself in their shoes, listen to them, together, let’s speak in love.

Prayers

Lord, please help me to be quick to listen and slow to speak. Let me see other people the way You see them and help me love them the way You love them. Let the words I speak bring life and grace to others, and glory and honor to You. I ask through Jesus Crist – Amen.
